The location has seasonal water in pools due to a shallow bedrock layer. It is on a wide ledge or step, between rock outcroppings that would allow fires to burned at night without others more distant to see them. There are thousands of petroglyphs in the area. I'm beginning a petroglyph search to see which ones I can understand and possibly follow. The hand(?) petroglyph is most unusual. It is clearly deeply carved. It is located in the cave pictured. The “hand” looks natural.
