I'm visiting family in California and made a stop at Lake Tahoe.
I was very much surprised with a 14K Gold Chain with pendant and a small 14K ring!
It's your fault I have to not cut the lawn and not wash the car and instead go detecting today! Thank you

Cool find... but it has a VERY odd color... Did you test it to verify ?

Perhaps just photo or water grime ?
It's the camera and the lighting.
There is nothing odd about the color when examining it.
I've been metal detecting since 1985 and recoverd over 300 pieces of gold jewelry, so I know it's good.
I'll take another picture in the sunlight and post

The photo looks like the Asian high Kt gold.
It weird what a photo will do when the lighting is off a tad.
Anyways congrats on the 2 pieces of gold
300 pcs-well done!

Yea, your right about that Asian gold. That 22K and 24K is really yellow and heavy too.

Beautiful chain, congratulations !!
My question is, did the chain come "open" or "Closed" ? and if closed, how do you think they lost it ?
A favorite question of mine,.... as years ago I found a gold rope chain in Spain that was closed and we debated how they lost it... (It barely fit over my head closed, so we assumed that a little person diving had the chain come over their head while diving down)

What a beautiful spot to go detecting. That chain should help pay for some ( or all) of your trip. Nicely done!
I'm sure he is going to sell that to pay for his trip 😳 🤣

It's possible the clasp is not gold, seems many times that's the case, they tend to be made of metals that don't break as easy.. Check the clasp with a magnet to see if its different... Doesn't mean the chain is not, it looks good to me..
