Mother nature made that clean cut. Very cool.
Interesting, its out in the middle away from anything. That cut is 6 inches wide and straight down through he exact very middle. It look more like a big ass lance to me lol:blackbeard:

You're telling us that rock is 40ft high?
Looking at the saplings around there not really sure about that one.
Sorry, I know but it is is true. I didn't find it as in a blind squirrel. But I understand why you asked. it's there and its 40x40' edges are sharp as a porch rail. So that is why I asked. I have 2 more pics. if you will notice the tree canopy isn't sitting is cut timber. the small tree in front goes all the up and another 15-25 plus feet past it. i was stand about 35-40ishyards away just to get it all in a picture. the canopy around it is 50 70-90 feet high Bluffs about 35 feet behind it running for miles. that is why it is shaded on a very sunny day. im trying to be truthful, because I don't know about you but is is coll as Fk. and i sat there for about 45 minutes trying to be objective...

don't doubt it... Look at each side of the cut down the middle. I think I see some very interesting symbols on both sides. BTW the Forest Service has wiped it clean off any trail maps and the entire Internet. It's unreal, I was having trouble locating it, due to no mention on trail, took most of the day. I was asking other hikers if they were familiar with the area hikes and most said yeas several hikes. I then asked about this and looked at me like i was some greenhorn from the city asking insane questions. Well, there it was

That's cool. What state/country?

I think he forgot the " . ", as in 4.0 feet...

Larger pictures please. Need to be able to zoom in with some detail. I don't see any symbols on both sides. I see cracks with the smaller pics.

i'll try I think it is a very high res pic. The symbols are offset I believe about 1 foot going up each side. to me the symbols are circular and about the size of volley balls. stacked two wide going up the edges... I always shy from mentioning what ones eye wants to see what is. If it is there then my belief is large Egyptian type symbols that you would see on like a monolith

Some image editing software allows to reduce size by percentage. I usually take hi res images, reduce by 40% and save them at 72 dpi for the web.

i'll get it after dinner my wife and i are grabbing a bite to eat

It looks like it cracked off the larger rock to the left, the big crack in it is due to natural erosion of a weaker vein of material that used to be in the crack.
Yes, when I was there I saw that. I walked 360 trying to figure possible . but I think the face from what you see was alot smaller and cut back away from the edge jagged. so it wasn't a nice of a fit that what the picture. and the rock looked much deeper that what is shows above the ground. Even so, is it split off the side. to be perfectly leveled sitting the way it was not sure. In addition if it broke off, it is still 15 feet taller than the fracture on the side. This sat back, towards the entrance to a box canyon. I walked around and it was misplaced for sure but anything is possible . Hint, the area has historical dated Egyptian presence...
