Years ago I found a small cache of pre-San Francisco Mint gold coins, probably the most excited Iv'e ever been in my life (find of a lifetime.) I turned them in to the property owner well aware of their value - I did NOT get a thanks, only a "Is this all there was," before they took the coins and drove off. The worst part about it is that they are probably sitting in the individuals house still when they would have made the news had they gone to auction. At least this individual is getting some recognition.

Hey nh.nugget . . . . You did the right thing, you will be rewarded for your deed. AND now we all know and appreciate you that much more!!!

Yup some people still have Class!!
But most do not (like the ones AU_solitude mentions)

I think in Europe, they have no choice in the matter.
Historical items like that MUST be turned in.
