Hello,

I am looking to build a highbanker and I am considering using either an AM or Cal sluice drop riffle as the bottom half. Any recomendations as to what model/size sluice to use?

I am going to be buying the 2 inch harbor freight pump to use with it. (BTW....there is a coupon in the newest GPAA magazine for the 2 inch pump. 149.00 !!)

Thanks in advance,

Keith

Either will work fine, if you screen the material properly but I do prefer the Angus Mackirks because thats what I have the most experience with. You can probably run up to a 16 inch wide drop riffle no problem with a 2 inch pump.

Here's an example one of my hi-banker sluices I cut with a table saw, this one was only 7 1/4 inches wide but its made to work with my small 1 inch pump while running about idle:

And that highbanker in use:

Also whatever you do, make it easy to take apart if needed at the field, and you need adjustment for all the legs in case you are setting up on unequal ground.
