Dear fellow TH not long ago a good friend of mine doing some night operation hoping , and to avoid any enconvience during the day , but unforetunately they got rob, or ambush in the middle of the night ,and the timing was so empressive, ( my on conclusion is insider,or gov. people that has been using high teh. equip.) my other question is : is it true that if the item once expose from the ground are easy for them to find it by way ,and help of some high tech. equipment . Slow down with your typing man. I can't understand a word your saying.

If my magical inbuilt translator is working it says

"Dear fellow TH not long ago a good friend of mine doing some night operation
(Mates were digging at night digging at night)

unforetunately they got rob, or ambush in the middle of the night
(they got robbed)

timing was so empressive, ( my on conclusion is insider,or gov. people that has been using high teh. equip.)
(The robbers were timed really we'll-as if they were pros with survalence gear)

my other question is : is it true that if the item once expose from the ground are easy for them to find it by way ,and help of some high tech. equipment
(If you pull something out from the ground can they [government I guess] find it really easily with their hight tech equipment?"

If this is what your asking my answer would be that if the government wanted something they would find a reason to take it-failing that they would just take it!
Unless there is some kinda secret police style deal that is flogging that kinda stuff?

I don't believe there is any kinda high tech stuff that detects normal finds (unless they have a radio locator on them) coming outta the ground.
I have heard that the latest (was quiet a few years ago) satallietes can easily read newspaper print so I guess there is NOTHING that the government CAN'T see!

Hope you can understand my ramblings!

Have fun,
Salvager

Well now. This makes a little more sense. I would say that I have heard of people carrying metal detectors getting mugged either for the detector or for the goodies...ie the muggers make the assumption that we find something valuable every time we detect. Either that or they get mugged because their attention is on the ground they are digging rather than their surroundings. I would say this poor chap's bad luck here is just that. Bad luck. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was probably in a not so nice neighborhood in the middle of the night without permission. So he got snagged by the local gangs probably. They probably saw him detecting and followed him around until he found something valuable. Poor unfortunate guy. Tell your buddy to get permission and go in the day next time, and to bring a friend along with him. One to kind of watch and stand guard if he's attracting attention.

Sorry about people getting rob.
