High hopes (no pictures yet)

Well, I finally caught the landowner. He lives elsewhere, not near the field.
I have permission to retrieve the large rock I’ve been watching and any others in the area. I’m glad I waited and got permission. Now I have about 200 acres to walk.
I’ll need a thaw before I can do much.
I’ll post photos when I get it out. I doubt anyone will be impressed by it, but I really enjoy finding and learning about rocks in this area. 👍🏼

I know it’s off topic, but is that a husky in the picture??

I’m impressed! A new permission with rocks. Rocks are a record of the history of earth. 4 billion yrs. What are these rocks that you’re after? All that white flint you find is around 350 mil yrs old. Youngsters. When you get into the igneous rocks, you’re into the billions. I’m a rock junkie needing a fix right now. I’m hoping we’ll get some early thawing. Here’s a piece of pet. wood.

That’s a good size piece. Much larger than any petrified wood I’ve found.
