That picture doesn't do this coin justice. The actual coin has no corrosion on it. It actually had a bronzeish tone with original mint luster. I remember finding the coin in a boulevard in St. Peter, MN. This town is on the Minnesota river and the soil is very sandy.
I used to like to detect there just because of the condition the coins come out of the ground. Nickel coins come out very nice also.

Don't you wish they all came out of the ground looking that nice?
A fine example of how soil conditions can effect coins.
