Just wanted to say "Hi"...I'm here. Recently retired and sort of a big local history buff (What actually IS a "Buff", by the way?)....Pre Declaration Massachusetts, revolutionary war, 1812 and Civil mostly....Sons of Liberty....Blah blah-Woof woof......Anyhow, my wife suprised me with a new detector a few weeks ago as a means to stay busy and pursue a more material form of "diggin history" ;)...have talked for years about how much fun and "Right up my alley" this seemed. Always loved exploring the woods...finding old cellar holes, abandoned houses and former mill sites....always fascinating and had me wondering about the people that lived there, and how it came to pass that they no longer do. Now that I have a lil one, I'm thinking it's also a great way to find something, whether coin or relic, and explain to my son just what was going on in our fledgling country at that period in time.....

Hello, from Northern CA and Northern AZ. TTC

Welcome

Welcome from another Mass treasure hunter. Palmer / Ware area myself. Look foward to reading your stories and possible seeing you on the trail.

Hello from a fellow new englander and rookie treasure hunter in CT!

Hi from N.Y. state!! You live in a good area for finding historical artifacts, hope you do well. Looks like your wife got you some great equipment!! I always wondered about "buff" too, maybe it refers to those who detect in the woods in the buff!!
