Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
Hunting buddy and myself went detecting some old cellar holes. I was getting beat up not one good target and he was pulling up awesome buttons. Towards the end of the hunt by a small pond and a big rock that was cut back at the bottom I got the 5x8 coil in there and got a nice tone with solid 70's VDI. It was a tough recovery near roots under rocks but there it was a 1845 Henry Clay campaign button. After getting skunked all day it was nice that my one button trumped all of this. The last photo shows the kinda of day we had.

Wow that bad boy cleaned up nicely. Congrats

Sweeet finds!!!

as i recall my 14 buttons to your one! lol and i dont think i got trumped! what did h.clay ever win? lol

That's a rare piece. Never seen one before. (I happen to live in Clay County, Florida) The gilting came out nice -how did you bring it out?

The only thing I did to clean it was warm soapy water. It's just a very well made button.

Beautiful $300 button there. :) That's look mighty nice on the finds banner up top. I dug one of those down here in Louisiana. Different style but same time frame, also a nice well-made two-piece button.

Well done.

Buck

Now that is something you dont see everyday !

Thanks everyone. But you don't really think its a banner find? Do you?
