It's amazing how much cut pieces were used there, and in some places like here, not at all.

We have dug only two cut coins here, out of 57 reales. Both were quarter cut 8's.

Well, a silver half will read very high on the scale, and a dime a little lower. A small cut piece will read even lower, and will be less than where a zinc penny will chime in. On my F75 most 90 deg cut 1/2 reales or 1 reales with read in the upper 50s. That same logic applies to all metals - the larger the target the higher the reading.

I kind of expected that but wasn't sure if the target would be around the same vdi, just smaller, shorter hit. Or if the vdi would go down as well.

I did find a half of a war nickel one time. The signal was a bit strange yet it still resembled a war nickel hit.

I was going to wise crack ya like Abe, he like me, probably didn't dig the lower number that would have been the cut piece. My day will come, just have not found that spot yet.

Looking at your yearly take Bill it really tells a story of how much commerce that was happing in the area to get all those cut pieces compared to the whole coinage.

Congrats on the great success for the 2014 and the star find of the year in the middle, if you come close in the 2015 season it'll still be a dream for most that view your post totals.
