what u think it is and how it got to southern ky
The picture doesn’t show it that great. It appears to be some type of fossilized corral -- perhaps rugose? As a non-KY resident, it would come off as strange to find it there, but some evidence seems to suggest that it is not as uncommon as I originally assumed. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1753039589/large-natural-kentucky-coral-fossil
No road nearLooks like limestone coral. If it’s not native, it may have been brought in for road construction or something.
Was there ever railroad tracks in the area? A lot of rock was hauled from all over for rail beds.No road near
No this was in the woods looked like it was uprooted from a tree since it was at the base of 1. Nearest rail road is to far. And with these rock formations there’s no traveling back where it was found. Was there ever railroad tracks in the area? A lot of rock was hauled from all over for rail beds.
