Your not bring me down with you this time, I already looked at about 600 pages of jettons last time!

No I know you guy's done what you felt was enough.:thumbsup:Who knows a lot of new people on here so there might be a new idea out there.I just can't believe some of the things that get Id'ed that this one don't have enough to tell what it is.

Do you have any thoughts at all? I had a hunch of what direction to look, and think I just confirmed I am right. Not an id, but maybe a good place to start. I guess my question is do you know what that coat or arms is, because I do. If you seen it before then likely, but that's definitely the place to look for a match.

Ip,I had a bunch of token pic. of different place that had similar looking coat of arms. But have deleted them over time man. There was one from the U.K.,one from Canada,& seems like I got on a Scottish trail one time. But no to your answer I'm not 100% sure what the coat of arms I'm seeing is.Just farting around again just now & came up with another close looking one in the direction of the last post about this coin/token.

This isn't the one I'm talking about but you can see what I mean. The one I'm talking about has cherubs & is from Canada but looks close to mine but the front was not even in the same ball park.

The bust screams Papal/Italian States, and thinking that I figured it was probably a Bishops mitre on the reverse, and turns out that is right. So I am pretty sure you are looking for a coin, token, or medal from the Papal States.

Papal Claims to Authority
And you saying that I would 100% agree your on to something cause as I said there is some lettering on the front bust side right in front of his head that I see a funny Po mabe if you look close it can be seen. But was so odd to me I was not able to put it together. Thanks man.

Then, again, instead of the angels placing a wreath atop a monument, in some scenes the angels are shown holding the pope's coat of arms surmounted by a tiara; as show here:

Don....

I believe you nailed it, Don! Nice job!!

Iowa Dale

To me it looks like a combination of what we each posted.... angels placing the mitre on his head.

I think I can see "PO" from the "PONT" Latin abbreviation to the right of the bust, about the 1:30 o'clock position.

Agreed, the Pope/Italian direction looks to be spot on, this ones getting closer.
