Here is the link to the history, story and meaning behind this seemingly simple Mercury dime...in case you didn't catch my post the first time. If you didn't see the post...you wouldn't have any idea as to the meaning it has to me.

http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,208767.0.html

Many of you responded to the post...pm'ed me...etc...and suggested I have the coin mounted in a pendant to wear always. Well....I agreed 100%...and told you then that I was going to do just that. I finally got it back from the jeweler yesterday...and am very pleased with it. He did a wondeful job creating it. Funny thing about the loop is ...that my chain is so big...we had to use a wedding band for the loop...otherwise we couldn't get the pendant to slide on it. ;D He laser soldered the diamond cut wedding band directly to the hand made 14k bezel...so this is truly a unique custom piece made especially for my priceless dime.
If any of you meet me and hunt with me next season....you'll see it around my neck...guaranteed....'cause it will be with me always. :angel7:
Thank you all for viewing and sharing this with me.

Nice SF.....now it's right on your Hart along with your Mom :angel11:

Thats Awesome,

I love when people think like this makes me happy. I however would fear losing it and would likely hang it around a picture frame of dear mom. So I would never lose it..... Maybe wear it when I go out or see faimly ;D Just a thought... :icon_scratch:

Looks Great!! Just wondering how much was it to mount. I don't want the cost of the chain and stuff just the cost of mounting it and labor and what not. I have some work I want done and just wondering how much it was??

Keep @ it and HH!!

What a GREAT story. I missed it first time around and went and read it now. The jeweler did a wonderful job and what a wonderful way to remember your mom.

Nothing is more precious than that which resides in the heart and mind, not money, or cars, or wordly goods that show off external access's. Only the memory of loved ones and friends long gone from here, offer us solace for our aching need for thier presence. Its a beautifull piece. Make sure your loved ones still here, understand its importance when your time comes.

A very touching and personal experience. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thanks Mud. I plan on wearing it 24 hours...that's why I had the wedding band soldered on for a loop. It made it very sturdy. As for the cost....Counting the wedding band I supplied for the loop....bezel....and labor...around $325

Nice story and the mount looks very nice too.

This doesn't compare with your story but it's funny how finds can sometimes be almost a miracle of sorts.

Years ago (early 80's) I was trying to decide if I should go to college. I was detecting a park and digging lots of wheats and indians at the time. I got a signal and before digging it I asked for a sign that I should go to school.

I dug a long odd piece of metal. Suddenly I realized it was an old type piece like they used in the old typeset printing presses.

I thought how in the world could this be a sign?

Then the thought came to me to ask that if it has my first initial on it this will be my sign to enroll.

I cleaned it off and there it was---my first initial in capital font.

I still have it but for obvious reasons I don't share this story much.

By the way, I graduated and the education totally changed my entire life for the better.

Great find you have there and yes--miracles do happen.

MB
Thanks MB...and thanks for sharing your story with me. You're right....that type piece with your initial...was meant for you to find.

That's a really cool idea. Love it. Makes that special coin "portable" instead of just sitting locked away somewhere.
Thanks Weasel. Yep...I had to "portabe-lize" it. No way I could just leave it sitting. This way...I can always have it hanging from my neck
