Olepossuem you need to get out in one of them streams that are low up there in St.Joe and start diging. do it nowwhile the waters are still low!and look for some bedrock out croping and dig there.im eyeing that ole river myself for a place to drop my 4 inch dredge into!

Looks like you got most everything you "may" need. What I found is every condition or location will dictate what you will use, what will work, and what you don't need. Russau is exactly right get out there and dig. Then and only then will you know what to carry back the next time. When you work the same location and know what the waters gonna be like, you will know what you should be packing in the next time. I started with the basics and built the home brew sluice, hand dredge pumps, etc. What it all boils down to is learning where to find the Yeller stuff. When you can do this then naturally you want to find as much as you can. In my case I know my take is directly related to the amount of material I process. With a shovel, bucket classifier and pan I thought I was doing good till I tried and diy sliuce. This addition produced better results cause I moved more material. Then I found I was losing fine gold with this set up so I added a factory sluice and got even better results. Next step in moving more material was a highbanker/with a two inch pump and this set up will kick my butt as far as keeping it fed with material. In other words it can process alot more than I'm able to or want to shovel in a day. This is a hobby right ...it's suppose to be fun..... not work. Working on a dredge set up for the highbanker now cause maybe it will be less labor intensive. You can read as much as you want right here on T-Net and you should but the best teacher will be you learning what works for you, your location and conditions. Don't think you will ever have it all figured out cause when you do ......you won't. Have fun and go feed that Fever. Hunter

The DFX won't be much good for gold, but it might help you find bigger black sand accumulations.

The only thing I know you will be adding to that equipment is SWEAT! LOTS of it. TTC

Nawww... He's in the mid-west Terry. He needs to come out our way and spend some time in the desert to really learn about sweat. ;) Just kidding of course Possum. I lived in Georgia for about 7 years and that's about all you can do out there in the summer is sweat. That humidity can be murder on a person.

Damn Irishman, are we following each other across the country?! I grew up in az, where you now reside, I'm in SD where you used to reside, and I too lived in GA for about 3 years. Cherokee county... Wish I had already had the "fever" back there... Man there's gold everywhere in those north Georgia creeks.

Where's your Anti-Forest Service Spray?:icon_scratch::laughing7:

LMAO Sportsmans Warehouse is selling antimonkeybutt powder.jpg ANTI monkey butt powder! does that qualify to get rid of forest svc. personell?

You may need a big can of Wuppass if you lived out here in AZ! These are real cowboys out here. Not the TV, guitar playing, dudes! TTC
