✅ SOLVED Help with ring.. Oxford College 1830

Found this ring today at an old site and can’t find much on it and I couldn’t find the hallmark. I’m wondering if the ring is actually from 1830 or if that represents when the college was founded. Can anyone help shed light on that please... or help with the hallmark please...

looks like that is when it was founded, (1830 to 1928) Oxford Womens College... its now Miami of Ohio!

1940's pin ( a similar pin was sold for $295, so that ring might be worth quite a bit)

Thanks xaos, I just sent off an email to one of their people. Hopefully someone can give me an idea of the age. Still haven’t been able to find the hallmark.

The 'popular' name for Miami University is Miami of Ohio; so as not to be confused with the U. of Miami (Florida).
MU predated the UoM by over 100 years. MU was founded in 1809 when Florida was still controlled by the Spanish.

Some history and the origin of the year '1830'.
Oxford Female Institute was founded in 1830 and officially chartered under this name in 1849. In 1852, the Oxford Female College was founded. In 1867 the Oxford Female Institute merged with the Oxford Female College, and in 1890 the name was changed to simply Oxford College. Today, it's a part of Miami University.
