I want to buy a new Excalibur 2 1000 but I also want to replace the stock headphones with Gray Ghost Amphibians, replace the Minelab knobs with Anderson knobs and install the pinpoint switch, purchase a Plugger or Anderson 39"' TRAVEL carbon shaft rod.

Is there any retailer sells Excaliburs with those mods AND that will ship internationally?

thanks

Nope. But if you send me a check for US$4,000.00 I'll hook you up.

Ship to which country?

Well I'm in Kuwait right now. Is there a reason why most retailers wont ship abroad?

Because of the manufacturers. When you sign a distribution contract, there is a define geographical area to avoid gray market

Frog is correct, it is what Stops Kellyco from shipping to Kuwait. If you have a friend in the military they can ship to APO addresses....

Actually I just found out there might be a better solution. There are US mail forwarding boxes. So if kellyco ships my item within the US they can apprantly forward your item onwards via international courier. Let see if this would work out. I'm desperate here. No one does this for a hobby here and people love buying gold!! Excal would be perfect for the beach.

Still want work, they do not allow forwarding....

buy
it from a european ML supplier, I think they have EMEA contract. Take a look at an NL distributor, will PM you the link if you want...pricing is similar to US.

They have ML, anderson and maybe GG...

I have found dealers listed in Greece and in Italy using "Dealer Locator" on Minelab webpage, you are going to have to travel to get an Excalibur, you also want be able to get the mods so just run it stock.....

Kellyco will not ship to the Middle East, they also do not allow forwarding of their packages.

Here is link to the "Dealer Locator" on Minelab's webpage....

Where to Buy | Minelab Metal Detectors

A point not mentioned by the OP....

If nobody metal detects in Kuwait, is it in fact legal to metal detect? I bet their jails are nice accommodations.....

Its fine as long as you return any artifacts you may find. This place has a lot of history as a trading port going back thousands of years. Even Alexander the Great settled on one of their islands (Failaka) for a while which has artifacts been dug up to prove this. Dubai is also a place i will target since its only 45 mins plane ride away.

The European option FM mentioned might be one I''m willing to try but first ill try check the minelab dealer TH mentioned on their website here in Kuwait/Middle East region if it even exists and how the prices compare (a lot of electronic stuff is very expensive here, usually cheaper to order majority of items through amazon). Thanks again for the help, its greatly appreciated!

There are no metal detector dealers int he Middle East that I can find, you will have to travel to Europe, Greece and Italy was closest I could find for Kuwait...

I just off the phone with the ''supposed'' minelab dealer in Kuwait (i got it from the minelab website). I was quoted 3300$...... Not going there.

It may not be legal to export the "technology" to the Middle East. Again, US$4,000.00 and I'll hook you up!

I would just leave it stock and get yourself a 2 piece straight shaft. You will void any warranty with mods. I chose not to mod my current Excal because I scuba with it to depths that I don't trust pinpoint switch integrity.
If you are only wading or wet/dry sanding I would get the CTX. It is already perfectly balanced, interchange coils, and you can run good headphones if you aren't going over waist deep. Plus you'll have same money in Excal with all the mods as a slightly used CTX.

Well I have to thank everyone on here for helping me out (got chartered membership to start off!). Frogmaster hooked me up with someone in Europe and they were very helpful but their prices were a bit higher than I was looking for so I checked out Depar. Couldn't have asked for more from them, they seem like a great company. Whats more they offered me the Excalibur II for a lot cheaper than anywhere i have seen for brand new, they also have 2 year warranty and service center in Dubai, so the choice was easy really. Big thanks to Pistolpete.

As per FM's advice i will order the rest of my items through kellyco once i get my Excalibur. I hope anyone else who has difficultly getting items in the middle east and Africa region can find this information in the future, Depar seems like the best choice. :notworthy:
