I don't think the pieces started life together. It looks to me like they got paired up later. You can find plenty of TCHCO Lovell table lamps which I think is what it looked like originally: 1888 VINTAGE BRASS TCHCO LOVELL & COMPANY BRASS OIL LAMP | eBay

Ok bradyboy got it buddy...............don't open my post pretty simple........I like your answer on the hammer post that person knew what it was.......you seem to be singling me out for some reason

I think if it were original the bracket would be copper to match the lamp. And most usually they will have a wall deflector attached to the bracket. This bracket looks a lot like I would expect with a candle holder.

Took a closer look at stamp and it might be covell instead of lovell

Yes indeed brass, my goof. It just doesn't look like they match, but I can always be wrong.
What I did find out though while trying to figure out the correct reading of the marks is that it says HITCHCOCK not just TCHCO... they must have had weak stamping on these, as there are a Lot that list these with jut at the middle of that name. So, I got sidetracked and never did figure out the Covell/Lovell question

Well, I was wrong again. Glad you were able to find a match. Hopefully the Hitchcock info was of some use so that I don't seem like an all around idiot... which, honestly, I'm good at in the real world anyway.

was just going to say yours prob did came with a wall mount/hanger
i found 2 that are made that way originally not your brand name though
