picked up a few silver items today and im just trying to figure out the hallmarks,
i believe the maker to be Henry John Lias and Henry John Lias
is the next symbol the town mark? if so what town?
lion for sterling ,dated 1851 and queen victoria to show tax was paid for assaying .
am i right in my research? any help would be great. oh and what kind of value do you think this might have? thanks

Town mark, yes, is next: London. I agree Henry John Lias (HL over HL mark) 1851 (Gothic 'Q' mark).
Henry John Lias I and his son, Henry John Lias II, were partners used this HL over HL mark from 1850 to 1879.
