My pal who knows I like coins sent me these pictures of what looks to be a silver hammered coin and after hours of Googling, I am stumped. I haven't personally held it, so I cannot give my opinion on whether it is real or a replica. Based upon my madding search, I see design elements similar to Anglo-Saxon coins, but I claim no expertise in the realm of ancient coins.

Anyone recognize this coin? Anyone recognize the style? I greatly appreciate any help you all may provide. 2376.jpg2377.jpg

It's a "Widow's Mite", mentioned in the bible. I am not sure if it is real, because many people have reproduced them, and I don't know much about ancients. Even if it is real, it is an extremely common coin, many of them were made as it was the lowest denomination of currency at that time. Very cool story behind it though! Check the edge for a seam to determine if it is real or not, if it is struck (like it should be), it shouldn't have a casting seam on the edge. It could also be a struck fake though.

I did some research, I am almost sure it is a fake. Many Christian companies sell them as teaching pieces, yours is identical to most of them. Real ones also have a different design on the reverse.
