Help with bullet

Assuming the lead shot I found is modern, a 9mm maybe?? The shell is a mystery to me, I am assuming it's not terribly old but if someone knows what it is let me know!! Dime is for size reference. Thanks guys!

I don't recall the brand and I can't find an image - but our local police use .40 S&W "practice" rounds for indoor simulation that look like that. Aluminum case that holds just a primer but no powder and shoots a Nylon or wax pellet hard enough to know you've been hit or to register on the simulator screen where the hit landed. The base telescopes out and gives enough kick so that it cycles the slide.

I like this idea as well. Someone has to come up with a pic of this thing on the web. THis is killing me
