Picked up this old axe head the other day. It has a stamped E on it that looks like the E from the E & S Mfg. Co. of Maine stamp. Just wondering if anyone can confirm that it is an Emerson & Stevens axe. It weighs 2 pounds and is about 6 1/8" X 3 1/2" - paint looks original.

At first I thought you were correct, but my research shows that the E&S company put their stamp across the side up next to the heel.
