I found this today at a house built in the 1740’s. Seems to be made of Lead or pewter and has a crushed loop at the top so it could be worn around the neck. Looks like a date at the bottom - - 45. Any idea what it is? Thanks!

Or Rochdale, Massachusetts?

Maybe it was the good stuff, shipped over here. We did a lot of trading with the Brits and still do.

Looks like some padlock key hole covers I have seen. What are the other letters around the edge?

Pretty large for a key hole cover and unfortunately I can’t make the letters out.

Cool find Fullstock, congrats!

The animal in the center sure looks like a lamb to me. I'd say a bale seal
from some type of woolen product. I don't expect we raised many sheep
in the Valley during the 18th century because they'd have been too
vulnerable to the predators we had here at that time. Wolves, bears and
mountain lions.

Best wishes!

Thanks for everyone’s help, I feel confident it’s a bale seal from Rochdale England. Thanks for your help!
