Coleman is a common surname, whose name is this 19th century watercolor for you?

Could it be Enrico (or Henry) Coleman?

Him - Enrico Coleman Painter

Attach the images of the watercolor.

Hi Red-Coat, yes I'm sure it's the same one. I found it on a picture site like "Coleman". I think the photo is different but the work is a watercolor and is the same. I like Enrico Coleman and would like one of his paintings, too bad the auction took place a while ago. Thanks to you I solved the mystery.

Welcome to Tnet.

Yes, it's by Enrico Coleman. This, said to be an original watercolour, had a presale estimate of ÂŁ800-1,200 (pounds sterling) but went unsold:

I doubt there are two identical originals. Are you sure yours is not a print? Where did you obtain it?
Enrico Coleman, Italian?🤔🤷🏼 Maybe his mama was Italian but “Coleman”? 🤣

Enrico was born in Rome, Italy in 1846 as the fourth child of the English (Yorkshire) painter Charles Coleman and the Italian artists’ model Fortunata Segadori. Charles had worked principally in Rome since 1831, moved there permanently in 1835, and married Fortunata the following year.

Now that makes sense. I’m half Italian from my dad’s side and call myself “Italian”. My heritage at least. I went to school in N Italy too. I don’t claim the other side. French!🤣
