Two items found half a mile a way from eachother, both at houses built in the late 18th century. Any help please! 2009_04272011july0010.webp2009_04272011july0011.webp2009_04272011july0014.webp2009_04272011july0015.webp First item is of a horse's head, very similar to a recent post entitled "Lady Liberty" in Today's Finds. Second, some kind of pin or cloak fastener?

The first one I believe is part of an old doorbell. The second may be a ring with the band cut off?

I think 1st one could be doorbell, I thought bicyle bell and brass not copper. The protrusion inside puzzles me though, couldn't find a matching image...
Is that a horse or mule's head inside a wreath I see on it?

Second I think drawer pull...

It's obvious that the protrusion is what held it in place on the body if the bell , if not what else would it be ? I've unscrewed bells like this before and the mount either goes through the the bell or is attached inside like this one was . IMHO , Woodstock
