So I dug this copper strip thingy yesterday at a late 1800’s house. I almost tossed it, but I saw something engraved into it.
It says:
NEW HOME
PAT’D JAN’Y 9
Not sure if there were other numbers after the “9” or not?
It measures : 3.5” x 1.25”
and is made of copper.
As you can see, there is a half moon looking cutout and two small holes too.
I know it’s a long shot, but WTH.
Thanks for any input,
MM
