Hi everyone. I would appreciate any help or information about this ring

The ring was found many years ago (1920’s) unfortunately the band was replaced but the head of the ring is original. I’ve often wondered if someone could shed light on the engraving and why it’s on the underside of the head of the ring. Sorry the picture is so bad the engraving depicts a devil with pitch fork and tail.

What's on the front?

It’s a plane faced oval signet. 18ct gold heavy weight. I’m intrigued as to why the devil symbol would be engraved under the head of the ring and wondered if anyone has come across anything similar before. Thanks for taking the time to look at it for me much appreciated

Maybe it's an early Underwoods Deviled Ham advertising ring.:tongue3:

No, really its a great looking ring and I have no idea what the makers mark is.
