Help? The mysterious round rock

I found this as a kid, I use to dig for" treasures". It very much feels like a stone , it's very smooth ... I dug it up when I was like 8 near my great grandparents' chicken coop. I've held onto it since .

ok this I can comment on. I also found one of those. Mine is certainly a rock, perfectly round and smooth. I wondered if it was native made. perhaps for a game?

I didnt know they had access to rock tumblers... Lol. My great grandparents had pigs... I thought maybe it was a pig kidney stone... Lol

mine is bigger than modern marbles, but could be. I only have one, wish I had a pair.

looks like a gallbladder stone to me. About the right size and the coloring looks pretty classic.

Looks like stone marble as Jeff said. They made diff sizes for diff games. Bigger ones would be used to knock smaller ones out

Cows would eat stones to aid in digestion. Looks like it came from a cow tumbler.

By the way .... How come you can't tell a secret on a farm?

They made marbles out of clay during The Civil War,is yours much heavier?

come to my gravel pit, we've got thousands.

They end up under the stacker conveyors because they want to roll back down the belt.

Generally created by water, tumbling, glacier action, but it could be something that fell from an animals butt.:laughing7:

Well that's about par , my life seems to revolve around cleaning up animal poop.
