Found this on an old farm site. It is 9 inches by 5 inches, quarter inch thick. Thanks for looking.

Possibly off of an old wood burning stove would be my guess.

A few more bits of information may help; Do you have any sense of what kind of metal it is? -if you have no idea, then is it light like aluminum, heavy like iron? Is it sturdy? Are there any maker's marks, letters, etc. anywhere on it? Is the bottom side essentially plain, no decoration at all? (helps determine whether it would be seen when in use). And, are there any holes, bracket attachments, or means of it being mounted onto another piece of whatever it was?

Is it sturdy? Yes not flimsy at all, couple of light breaks, so not iron or steel
