That's some interesting stuff. I'm going to read up on it. The coin for sure has to be one. I never thought it could be possibly solved that quick. HahaI couldn't find the exact one but it looks like a 1600s Simon Van De Passe school style gambling counter. Very collectible! Here is some info- http://www.ccgtcc-ccn.com/Silver%20Gambling%20Counters.pdf examples of others--- mcsearch.info - The medieval & modern coin search engine
yes look at the edit I made in my above post: "I did some more searching...If you look on the British Museum website it says the etching was done by Wenceslaus Hollar, a Bohemian etcher (1607-1677). If you look on google it appears he did a bunch of etchings for other commemorative medals. They look fairly similar."I wonder if the guy you found and the one I found are the same guy? They say pretty much exact thing. View attachment 958837 View attachment 958838
I think it is silver. I wonder what purity they would have used for them. On the links bramblefind found it said they were made in gold and silver. A gold one would be real nice. HahaThe internet can certainly be an amazing search/research tool - sure looks like you've nailed this piece down , is it actually silver ?
