✅ SOLVED Help needed to ID a Hook?

What is this thing? It opens and closes freely with no latch to keep it closed. It you tried to pick
something up, the weight would cause the hook to open. I've never seen anything like it. Most
likely made of chrome plated brass.

Pelican hook. Used to attach cable or chain while keeping it taught - most often seen where there are lifelines (like on a boat). There would be a keeper ring or it is whipped with light twine to keep it from opening once in place.
