So one of my closes friend just bought about 20 Arcs of land in western North Carolina. A small mountain. and I was doing some prospecting around. I Found a large vein of soft quarts about 8 inches wide with rusty dark rocks along the edges running threw a cut in the mountain that was mostly soft sand material. And above was streaks of this darker rusty material with about 20 % quarts in it. I have pictures of some samples I took. If anyone has any idea on what this might be or if it would contain anything of value. Thanks guys :)

Sounds like iron and quartz. But from what I normally have seen it is vained in granite or schist. Now on the other hand, iron, decomposed granite, schist, quartz, and iron are all associated with GOLD/AU2.
