Hello TreasureNet community, I would really appreciate it if anyone can help ID this arrowhead found by my father in Hernando county, Fl. I believe it is made of quartz. I tried looking on identification websites but have not had much luck. If this post goes well, I might be back with a couple more I need some ID help with 14978345307921788563438.jpg149783464954935623948.jpg14978347363911863194941.jpg

It's definitely made of quartz. I have a whole collection of nothing but quartz arrowheads made and used by the Cherokee. I am proud to say that I am part of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation who refused to walk The Trail of Tears. Although I definitely take more after the Scottish side of my family...

Regionally, it can be "typed-out", in named-styles that have been produced there over time. That way, age can be attributed to it
Contact local university. Found on Federal land? ... don't ask, don't tell...! State lands, they have laws about antiquities.
Yeah, contact the academics or use this Forum.
Your dad found a beauty!
Good luck !

There's a couple of guys over on the North American Indian Artifact forum that are from Fl. that can tell you all about it.

When I saw the first picture, my first thought was agate. That said, I don't own, and have never seen a quartz point, so will go with what more knowledgeable people are saying.
