I already made a thread in the beach an shallow water forum. I found the coin on the beach...

So I will just link that thread here. Thanks for your help. hh gl -Joe I can see lettering in the first pic, but the second one I can't make anything out.

It's a Draped Bust Large Cent of 1796 - 1807. Can you see any of the date? 1796, 1799 and 1804 are particularly desirable dates.

The best I can make out is a barely legible 7 where the 17XX is. I will try an take better pics with my wifes phone when she gets home. Thanks for the help. lol. I had no idea I found this. Even if its trashed. hh gl -Joe

It's a Draped Bust Large Cent of 1796 - 1807. Can you see any of the date? 1796, 1799 and 1804 are particularly desirable dates.

Any 1700's U.S. Mint coin is a great find no matter the condition-- I haven't come close to finding one of those yet.

Congrats on the LC! Found my first 1700's large cent last week as well.

Get a pencil and a sheet of white paper. Put paper over the coin and SOFTLY get a rubbing of the coin.

It's help me get a better picture of some of my old, flat coins.
