I came across this in my yard in Danville GA. I’ve been told by someone from the antiques road show that it was a buckle mold, pre war, GA militia, and since the star is angled it would go across the chest on a ammo bag/bandolier. The civil war Preservation Society said that “it could be anything” and that all they know for sure, it’s not Rev. war period. Where my house now sits, there once was a large barn/stable and blacksmith shop. The house next to it was built in 1812 and the barn soon there after. Any info will help. Thanks.

The only thing similar that I have come across is this Texas belt plate

1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Ryanblood1! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

That's pretty cool. I love the sand dollar motif. Can't wait to find out what it is.

It looks like it is used to impress something like leather, with stars. But stars are used in the world wars too.

The area is all farm land. But I don’t see a farmer needing anything like this. I found a ford radiator shroud and a couple other parts for a model T and in the bottom of the hole I pulled all the car parts from I saw this.
