Well, it's dark and has green lines of "something" running through it.

Honestly, we need to see larger, in focus images. Also, was this
found in Kenya or ..where?

Yes Dizzy, Its in Kenya.. Got several stones like this which are black with yellowish-green stripes(Crystalline in nature). I too got Other different ones like i have one that can change colors like a chameleon.

Do a hardness test with a known piece of quartz, or even topaz if you have some. Potentially low-grade sapphire?
