Hit a civil war site I’ve hit a lot picked up a couple more things not sure what the wire looking thing is looks modern to me do you have any idea thanks
Do either of the little end pieces unthread? It resembles a large, damaged key ring. One where the end cap is unthreaded to allow keys to be added or removed.

The rein guide is a style that was used for many decades, so it doesn’t help me guess the age.

the ends do screw off i think it is modern. I no there has been at least one time i trashed an artifact i thought was junk just to see later someone else post a pic on here and turned out to be a civil war relic. Just wont to make sure.

I found both pieces to the buckle thought the triangle piece was junk and trashed it only to learn what it was after

I know what you mean, I’ve found potentially 200+ year old gun parts while picking through stuff I originally had no idea what I was looking at and had in a bucket with iron scrap and nails and such… I wish remembered where they came from
