What is it how old is it? Found in the same motel site shown in 1942 map. What type of Iron is it hand forged? Do i Knock the crud with a hammer? How Do i stop it from flaking? What is this doing in a motel? Is it broken on the bottom in picture 5 ? How old is it ? Period to the motel ? or related to the motel? 20210117_201430.webp20210117_201441.webp20210117_201446.webp20210117_201456.webp20210117_201523.webp

From a 1940s motel probably not hand forged....whack it with a hammer to knock off the concretions.

Might be a wedge to hold concrete forms together temporarily.

If it's farm country, it might be a sickle bar mower guide or a harrow tooth. Good luck.

Not a sickle guard or a tooth or a shim from farm equipment. Well all find out

Definitely for use with concrete. Used to find a bunch of them out around an old water tank with a concrete base at my elementary school.
