Help ID a coin

I posted this in the coin section but only got one reply but not an ID. Can anyone ID this coin- It was given to my favorite Italian pizza place's owner when his father passed. It's about the size of a silver dollar or maybe a tad bigger from my recollection and perhaps thicker. It's pretty heavy. Sorry I didn't have a scale on me when he showed it to me.

I actually have a coin like that. Mine is a modern forgery though. Here are some photos - also a link to another and you can see by the price that one is a forgery as well.

looking at the first pic, you can see a crack running across the coin at the base of the neck line, and what appears to be peeling of the copper or bronze plating. I agree it's a fake.

It's actually broken into two pieces but inside looks the same as outside - he has others that are not broken
