Ok I found another old weapon analyze and I could really use everyone's opinion on it! Not sure how old it is but I believe its at least vintage! No markings, the handle looks to be pewter but its not soft like pewter! Measures 15 inches x 2 inches at thickest part of blade! It looks like the end of the handle used to be a carving of a lions head but someone used it as a hammer! Any thought? Thanks everyone!!

Trikikiwi is correct on the ID of an imitation, that's where secretcanyon is right :-)
The poorly engraved "INDIA" on the blade is a giveaway for a souvenir.

I would hang it on my walll though even so :-)...

junk steel made for the tourist trade....
this blade is in no fashion a ceremonial knife...or a working knife...or a decent wall hanger..

Oh yeah you wouldn't say it wasn't a working knife if I had it up to your throat! It's very sharp!!

You know what I just noticed! Part of the carving on the knife says India!

Sorry Kathy, secretcanyon is correct. It is a modern tourist piece, and among the world of knife collecting it is regarded as junk. The style is correct for a knife that was used by Indian troops for years, but the one you have isn't a military one.
