All San Antonio area newbies. Come see us at the San Antonio Metal Detecting Club (San Antonio Area Metal Detector Club - San Antonio Area Metal Detector Club). As of this posting, we have a meeting scheduled for this Thursday (3/13/14). You can find directions to the meeting facility at the link provided. We have a seeded hunt planned on private property in Fair Oaks Ranch for Saturday (3/15/14) Due to club fund expenditures for the "seed" paid members only are allowed to hunt this event (You are welcome to join at the meeting on Thursday). If I am not mistaken, there will be 164 Ike Dollars, and 1,500 Buffalo Nickels, among other things buried. Something new we are doing for this hunt... some of the prizes will be buried in the hunting field! (some very nice metal detecting diggers, some pocket knives... and other items of interest as well). Also, there is a trip being planned to Port Aransas in April for some beach hunting. There are also many friendly club members who love to hunt with newbies to the hobby. I should know, I've been a member for only a couple of months.
