Hello from Russia!

Welcome from New Hampshire, USA.

Very nice finds.

Anita

how big are the 5 kopeks (diameter)? about the size of US Half dollar, maybe?
Diameter: 25 mm. Weight: 5 grams.
The Soviet coins have the surprising fact. Coins face value 1, 2, 3, 5 kopeks have respectively weight in 1, 2, 3 and 5 grams

I ask to help me. My English is poor. my electronic translator too badly it knows it)))
Help learn with what section of a forum I can to show pictures of the finds and coins. Tnks

Ok Thanks, 25mm would make the 5 kopek smaller than a US quarter and larger than a US nickle, with the same weight as a US nickle. Are there any Russian coins that are 30mm or larger?

enjoy the hunt,
cc

Edited to add:

Wow! One gram!?! That's more than twice as light as a US dime (2.2g)...better watch that coin in strong, gusty wind.

Man....my sizing is waaay off (I think I had pre 1830-ish quarter diameters mixed up with modern, plus I need to get better at metrics, lol). That looks to be just about the size of Half...perfect. Thanks for the pic!

cheers,
cc

Modern Russian coins all no more than 25 mm. However the coin of 5 kopeks 1775 was minted from copper. Its weight of 45 g, diameter of 42 mm.

Welcome from Tennesseej, USA. I really enjoyed the pictures of the areas you are hunting in. It's very pretty there!

I think he put the battery in the pic for size comparison, not one of his finds.

Yeah, about all I find lately is junk, LoL. He looks like he's got some beautiful hunting grounds and makes some cool finds. I'm curious to see more.

Vadim, thanks for all the coin information. I love hearing about the money from other places.

cheers,
cc

Thanks for viewings, responses, posts and for your questions that you are interested. If you have some questions about coins of Russia or about my country, I will always answer. Also I will tell the truth, instead of that information which sometimes newspapers and TV give you :)
