Hello all:

I was gifted a metal detector for Christmas and have been out swinging it few times, found 75 US coins and a Thailand half baht coin on one trip to a local park, and a Winchester shotgun shell from the 1800s.
So far I'm hooked. I also do some gold panning and fossil collecting.

That's exactly how I started out... with a Christmas present. My wife gave it to me and figured I'd get tired of it after a short while. Much to her chagrin, as she says, 21 years later she was wrong!
