Wow, what a Great website. I am so Happy to be here. The fact that I'm here means I have a metal detector, well at least it's in the mail, lol. That's right I just ordered my first ever Metal Detector and it will be her in 2 days. I will be getting a Garrett Ace 250. I hope it's a good one. I'm 100% new so this should be very fun. I love discovering things/finding stuff so this should be perfect for me. I look forward to getting to know some of you and I hope I wont ask to many stupid questions. Speaking of questions here is one. Should I ask permission before I go hunting in my cities parks? I didn't know if I should just go metal detecting and play dumb or risk hearing the "NO" word. Anyway thanks for listening and Hello again.

Welcome to the forum. You will be seeing that there are a lot of very knowledgable people here. I would first check the by laws of the area you wish to hunt first. Some places don't allow it. But that's where I would start. The ace 250 is a great starting unit unless your in an area like mine with a lot of mineral content. I hope all is well and happy hunting. Maybe you'll find that gold ring, or something as fun.

I new to this site myself, I wish you the best of luck and any questions just ask and somebody here will know, tiderider

Hello and welcome.Good luck with your hunting.

First of all, welcome to the forum. If you can't find a specific ordinance or rule against metal detecting your city parks then go ahead and detect. Asking will only cause problems and depending on who you ask your likely to get an incorrect "no." Good luck and H.H.

Welcome. See if you can find a local metal detecting club. They probably know the rules. Murdertown?
