Hello to all. Happy to be here. I have been hunting gold since I was a young lad growing up against the Sierras in CA. Recently I've been working the Salmon River near Whitebird, ID. Almost completely flour gold, but readily available to anyone. I've worked stream bed to higher benches finding gold pretty much everywhere. As a joke last year, I sluiced the parking lot at a friend's excursion business for an hour and panned out a tenth of a gram. Since I'm usually alone volume is usually limited to about 2 buckets of 1\4" classified material. Average cleanup results are the lighter pan. A better day is usually had sniping the basalt bedrock as seen in the heavier pan.
I'm a CT Tech and beginning a new job with a travel tech agent. So I'm gearing up for some new adventures all over the country. Santa Fe, NM is first for 13 weeks so any tips are greatly appreciated.
Happy hunting,
Rocky
