Hello everyone, my name is Kevin and I live in Georgia (about 45 minutes east of Atlanta). I'm incredibly new to this hobby and not really sure what I'm doing, but man is it fun. My wife bought me a metal detector for my birthday and I just received my first panning kit in the mail. I've only had one opportunity to go out with my metal detector and already found my first coin… I'm hooked. I also went out yesterday exploring northern Georgia and tried panning in a couple rivers. I didn't find anything except for a few unusual looking rockstar that I need to look up but it was fun (after I put bug spray on... at one point the Mosquitos almost carried me away!).
