Hi everyone, My name is Tanner, I'm 21 and I'm from Minnesota, I heard about this place from Arfcom, I like it a lot so far. I collect a lot of old stuff including coins and militaria and scrap metal so i figured i would fit in.

My question is, If i had $3000 to get coin rolls, what coins should i get? Quarters, nickles, dimes?

Thanks

Tanner, I would recommend you search halves, big dollars, dimes, nickels, quarters and cents if you are interested in non silver coins also. In other words, do a little of everything except small dollar coins. My last search I got skunked on $1000 in halves, skunked on $500 in dimes, 4 war nicks out of $200 and one Indian head cent (my third), 15 wheat cents and some older Canadian. You never know what will produce. Also if you are after cwr, it's good to be flexible. I like dimes and nickels best but if all they have are quarters I'll take those. Good luck to you.

Put all 3k in one denomination. And see how wet the well is. If it's dry move on to another denomination. So in and so forth. Quarters from the fed almost never produce. Cents always produce something. Just figure out what you'rer searching for and go from there.
That is all

Scrapping is some hardcore stuff, most C/H/R'rs including myself won't venture into that field. Tanner, homie, my advice to you, is to first of all buy a Ryedale or other cent sorter. Since you are in Minnesota, just take a ride up to Canada, and open an account at a Canadian bank; order as many cents as you can and bring them back to the US. Then sort them out, and take the Canadian copper cents to the scrapyard and turn them in for scrap value. If you are close enough to the border, and can do this in bulk, you are going to be a rich man, quit your job kinda money, and public enemy #1 in Canada.
