Hi fellow d/ts, I hit an old spot of mine and it started of slow as...grass a foot high, falling into holes camoed with grass..no nuthin..then a strong signal and at 18 inches I hit a solid item with my shovel...ended up 6lb of a coehorn mortar frag...oh well..happy with that , then the t2 bird sang again about eight feet away and same thing, after the pentroylisis bath she mated up to the other piece, quite rapt about that ...got a peice of armstrong fragment which is covered in a zinc coating a couple of .577 bullets one still with its little boxwood plug still in it and...help on the round thing on the left of pic if poss...maybe it is a part of an armstrong shell.....2 and 5/16th of an inch in diam and about 5/8 thick...four indent holes one side and a centre hole on the other..made out of something like zinc they did use hand grenades back in 1860..or could it be or part of an armstrong projectile..any help would be great team...thanks for looking and happy hunting..des
