I posted the larger one a a good while back and never did figure out what it is, now I found the smaller one. At Pro rings a 62, heavy for the size, does not attract a magnet except a small embedded dot on one side.
I am curious as to what it is if anybody want to give it some thought.

I bought the larger one but was later told it was found by RR tracks so the rocks there could be slag.
The smaller one I found in a parking lot that was probably slag. They are heavy for their size and are metallic.

scratch it, if you have a white tile try scraping it to get a color streak, also try and take a hammer to a small edge to get a fresh break, just break off a chip and show the fresh inside of the rock (take a photo of that inside). Also I would recommend posting it to the rocks and minerals section, just go to the forum and scroll down till you get to the rocks and minerals section under geology.

here's the link jik

So Hambone. Did you find it next to the smelter? On the rail tracks? At the recycling plant? In the woods, a creek, a crater? Did you go out to your car and find a hole in your trunk lid? Need help? Help by providing some background.

On the underside of toilet lid, it looks like a grayish streak.

It does not scratch with a razor blade either.
