Too dang hot out in the mill area, we have tons of open water evaporating causing a sauna effect and we havnt hit the expected high 110 or so today, to hot to work any more today.
Heres a topic I havnt seen explored here .
Since the temps are heatin up and the grounds are dryin out.
I was just wondering how you placer miners getting mercury off your claims deal with the stuff you don’t see.
My concern here is maybe some of you don’t think about this hidden danger of mercury that’s not in the water.
How do you go about dealing with the clean up process after possibly picking up Hg on your feet and shoes when walkin your claims.
If we find it on the ground In the hard rock lab area we have big problems, and some of you all are finding it excactly that way, so im wondering if you all have to take the same precautions we do in the lab.
One thing we are carefull of spilling on self or getting this stuff on the ground, then one ends up tracking the micro beadlets into our work space, home, car , heck it goes with you till it feels like falling off, then it hitch hikes a ride on someone else but always leaves just a wee bit behind till it vaporizes.
Our work is done in a controlled area, we keep tight watch on the stuff, none escapes, if it was too get out on the ground its cleaned up right away as not to contaminate any other areas of the mill.
How do you placer guys make dang sure your not tracking this stuff home to your familys or is there really no concern that it could happen?
Food for thought.
